Koh Rok Nai and Koh Rok Nok sit about 40km south of Lanta inside Mu Ko Lanta National Park. A shallow channel of white sand runs between them, and because there is no development on either island the water stays exceptionally clear.

The coral here is mostly hard coral in shallow water, which makes it easy snorkeling — you rarely need to go deeper than a few metres to see the best of it. Blacktip reef sharks patrol the shallows in the early morning and are entirely harmless.

The island closes during the monsoon months when the national park shuts. Check the season before planning a trip around it.
