Phuket to Lanta is the run our Google listing is partly named for, and it is the one where a private car earns its money. The shared minibus alternative stops repeatedly, changes vehicles at Krabi, and takes most of a day.
We drive it directly: off Phuket via the Sarasin Bridge, down through Phang Nga and Krabi, then the car ferry across to Lanta. One vehicle, one driver, stops when you want them.
It is a long day whichever way you do it. Bring something to watch, and tell us if you want a food stop — most people do, roughly halfway.

Good to know
- Allow 4 to 5 hours, longer in high season if the ferry is busy.
