Honda PCX 160
Comfort two-up, longer days, riders who find small scooters cramped.
The most comfortable of the mid-size automatics, with a longer wheelbase, a wide seat and a more relaxed riding position than an Aerox or a Click. It uses the same 157cc class of engine as the Click 160 but carries it in a larger, more settled chassis. This is the usual step-up recommendation for taller or heavier riders.

Good to know
- Enough engine for two people and the climb south past Klong Nin.
- Helmets for rider and passenger are included, and Thai law requires both of you to wear one.
- You need a licence that covers motorcycles, plus an International Driving Permit. A car licence is not enough, even for a 110cc.
Included with every rental
- Two helmets with every bike, at no extra charge. Thai law requires a helmet for the passenger as well as the rider, so a second helmet should never be sold as an extra. If you need a particular size, tell us when you book and we will have it ready.
- The bike's compulsory Thai insurance paper (Por Ror Bor) and its registration book, in the bike, so the customer can see the machine is road legal and produce it at a checkpoint. The FCDO specifically warns that hire scooters in Thai tourist areas are sometimes unregistered — a shop that shows the paperwork is answering a real worry.
- A printed condition sheet with a bike outline, marked and initialled by both sides at handover, plus dated photos or video of the bike as it goes out. This protects the customer and the shop equally.
- A written fuel line on the agreement — whether the bike goes out full and comes back full, or same-to-same. Two Koh Lanta shops advertise handing bikes over with a full tank as a selling point. We confirm the fuel arrangement in writing before you ride away.
- Collection from our shop on the main road opposite Rawi Warin Resort & Spa — easy to find, easy to park at, and someone is there to walk you round the bike before you ride off.
- A phone mount. Navigation between beaches is the main use of a phone here, and a mount is cheap. Ask us if you need one.
- A rain poncho, May to October. Cheap, and it reads as care rather than upsell.
- A 24-hour WhatsApp number for breakdowns, flat tyres and questions. The shop is already open 24 hours, which most competitors are not — say so.
- Local route advice at handover: which beaches are reachable on the bike being rented, where the fuel stations are, and where the road gets steep.
