Evening Longtail boat

Sunset & Plankton Swim

Andaman sunset, then a swim in the dark

Out for the sunset off the west coast, then a night swim in bioluminescent plankton once the light has gone.

Lanta faces due west, which is why the sunsets here are the thing people remember. We take a longtail out past the reef line for it, with the engine off and cold drinks aboard.

Once it is properly dark we anchor in a sheltered bay and you swim. On the right night — new moon, warm water, no rain for a few days — the plankton light up green around your hands and every kick trails sparks.

Honest caveat: bioluminescence is a natural phenomenon and it does not perform on schedule. Some nights it is extraordinary and some nights it is faint. We will tell you what the last few nights have been like when you book.
